In southern Serbia, Roma groups are severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many Roma earn their money with seasonal labor in the agricultural sector, which is usually done in the surrounding countries during the summer period. Because they were unable to travel this year due to the pandemic, the income of most families has fallen to a minimum. The Roma also do not receive any support from the government.

Through a network of churches, we as a foundation have contact with five Roma churches in the South: in Leskovac, Prokuplje, Vranje, Vranjska and Niš. This concerns about 750 families who will have no more reserves in the coming winter period. And run out of food and firewood.

In collaboration with a number of Relational Mission churches in England, we are organizing a special promotion for the purchase of food parcels. This way, families are supported in the coming winter period. A package costs € 30, which is enough for a month of food for one family.

The packages consist of the most necessary daily groceries, such as flour, oil, salt, rice, pasta, meats and eggs
